How to make this craft step-by-step:
Materials:
To make a monster you need:
- A ball of yarn
- Pipe cleaners
- A cardboard cup
- Pom-poms
- Moving eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- A piece of cardboard measuring 14 x 23 cm
- A glue gun
- A pair of scissors
Step 1:
Cut a piece of cardboard measuring 14 x 23 cm.
Step 2:
Wrap wool around the piece of cardboard.
For a nice chunky monster, feel free to wrap until you achieve about 1 cm thickness of wool around the cardboard.
Step 3:
Cut the wool at one end of the cardboard.
Step 4 :
Make a double knot with a wool thread at the other end.
Step 5:
Place a caterpillar on the double knot and tie another knot to secure it.
Step 6:
Flip the wool over and then use a glue gun to attach a cardboard cup in the center.
Step 7:
Turn the cup upside down and glue on some googly eyes with the glue gun.

Step 8:
Wrap the two parts of the caterpillar, one by one around a pencil.
Step 9 :
And finally, glue a pom-pom to each end of the chenille.

Great idea, very easy to make! So much so that my 5-year-old son made a whole family. We even adjusted the length of the yarn strands to make "little" monsters. Perfect for Halloween, we have them on every step of the staircase! Thank you for the idea.
