A simple and original DIY that allows you to create beautiful cards containing a seed-infused heart. Once given, just plant the heart in the soil, water it, and flowers will bloom to prolong the memory.
This step-by-step tutorial guides you in creating your flowery hearts: mixing colored dough, adding seeds, shaping with a cookie cutter, and then integrating it into a homemade card. An ideal activity to do with children to prepare personalized gifts for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, or to thank a loved one.
How to make this craft step-by-step:
Step 1
Prepare the base by mixing 1 part water with 3 parts papier mâché until you achieve a smooth texture.
Step 2
Add a few drops of colored ink to give a nice hue to the mixture.
Step 3
Mix well until the color is evenly distributed.
Step 4
Incorporate a packet of seeds into the colored preparation.
Step 5
Place a heart-shaped cookie cutter on a flat surface and spread approximately 5 mm of dough at the bottom.
Step 6
Carefully remove the cookie cutter and let it dry for about 24 hours. Remember to flip the heart after a few hours for even drying.
Step 7
Cut a pink A4 cardstock into 3 equal strips. Fold each strip in half to create a card. Then, cut a horizontal slot about 1 cm wide on the front side.
Step 8
Slide each seeded heart into the slot of the card to create a lovely card ready to be given as a gift.
