How to make this craft step-by-step:
Materials
To make a pretty autumn picture you will need:
- An MDF board (25 x 15 cm)
- One large wooden stick (15 cm)
- Two small wooden sticks (5.5 cm)
- Two googly eyes (Ø 1.8 cm)
- Rubber leaf stickers
- Acrylic markers
- Wood glue
- A thick card base
- White modelling clay (silk clay)
Step 1
Glue the large wooden stick at the bottom of the rectangular board to form the snail's body.
Then glue the two small sticks to create the antennae.
Step 2
Stick two googly eyes onto the small wooden sticks.
Step 3
Roll a ball of white modelling clay.
Note: We used silk clay because it is very light and dries quickly. A 40 g pot makes enough for three snail shells.
Step 4
Press the ball of modelling clay with your hand onto the wooden base to create the snail's shell.
Tip: The clay sticks naturally to the base as it dries.
Step 5
Decorate the wooden base with rubber leaf stickers.
Step 6
Once the modelling clay is dry, draw a spiral on the shell using an acrylic marker.
Also draw a small smile and sign the picture with your child's name.
Step 7
Glue a thick card stand to the back of the picture so it can be displayed easily at home.

Very nice creation made with a child under 5 years old.
Réalisation très jolie faite avec une enfant de moins de 5 ans.
Excellent activity easily done with a 3-year-old. Easy but with small challenges for this age: sticking the elements in the right place and the spiral. With adult support, the child succeeds easily and is very proud of their work.
Excellente activité réalisée facilement avec un enfant de 3 ans. Facile mais avec des petits défis pour cet âge : coller les éléments au bon endroit et la spirale. Avec l'étayage de l'adulte l'enfant réussi facilement et est très fier de son travail.
