String Art Hot Air Balloon
Looking to add a poetic and original touch to your decor? This hot air balloon in string art is a creative activity that is both simple and spectacular. By stretching colored threads around small nails, you will create a hot air balloon that seems to rise into the sky… and with the help of an integrated mini fairy light garland, your artwork will magically illuminate!
A perfect project to discover the technique of string art, develop fine motor skills, and create a unique decoration to hang or give as a gift. Both young and old will enjoy watching the hot air balloon take shape thread by thread… and then illuminate at the end!
How to make this craft step-by-step:
Step 1
You can paint the wooden surface, or leave it unpainted. Here we have created a small gradient of blues.
Step 2
Create a beautiful gradient of blues, then use white to paint some clouds.
Step 3
Place the carbon paper on the wooden board, then place the downloadable drawing on top of the main photo. On the drawing, you will see red marks; trace over each mark with a pencil to transfer the marks onto the wood.
Step 4
Now all that is left is to hammer the nails at each mark.
Step 5
Connect the nails with the colored strings. To start, make a double knot, then return to the starting point when you have finished an area to secure the knot.
Step 6
Proceed in this way with each color.
Step 7
Attach the garland behind the frame. You can secure it with tape, putty, a dot of hot glue, or double-sided adhesive. Then thread the garland through the outline of the monglofiere to illuminate it.
