How to make this craft step-by-step:
Materials:
To create styrography, you will need:
- a model to print here
- foam sheets
- carbon paper
- foam rollers
- gouache
- a thick white sheet
- a pencil
- masking tape
- a plastic cup
- a craft mat
Step 2:
Layer, in order, the foam sheet, the carbon paper, and then the printed template of your choice on top.
Carefully trace over the entire drawing by following the outlines to transfer the pattern.
Tip: For easier handling, secure the sheets to the foam board using masking tape to prevent them from moving.
Step 3:
Gently remove the sheets: magic! The model then appears replicated in blue ink on the foam board.
Using a well-sharpened pencil, trace over the lines while applying slight pressure to engrave the drawing into the board.
Step 4:
Once the drawing is outlined, paint the plate using gouache and a foam roller, with the colors of your choice.
Step 5:
Place the foam board onto a white sheet, press lightly to transfer the paint properly, then gently lift the sheet to reveal the illustration.
