Wooden Advent Calendar: Fortress with 24 Compartments
A customizable Advent calendar!
This wooden Advent calendar shaped like a fortress counts down to Christmas. Each day, a new drawer is opened to reveal a small surprise: chocolate, mini toy, message, or creative challenge. It comes in raw wood, so everyone can decorate it to their liking: princess castle, knight's fortress, snowy castle, or a golden version for Christmas.
A real wooden castle, full of details: 24 drawers with a round notch for easy opening, 3 towers with pointed roofs and battlements all around the castle, a central dungeon with a round window, and a drawbridge that lowers to hide an extra surprise.
Decoration ideas
- Acrylic paint or gouache for the walls, roofs, and drawers
- Markers and paint pens to outline the stones, windows, and coats of arms
- Sticker numbers, stamps, or stencils to number the compartments from 1 to 24
- Decoupage, glitter, rhinestones, or artificial snow for a magical version
- Varnish as a finish to protect the decor and keep it for several years
Things to know before starting: The 3 towers are glued to the back of the castle. Therefore, you need to plan for wood glue, and let it dry well before painting.
