Celebrate autumn with an easy and fun craft project to make a charming decorative mushroom with your kids!
Using a polystyrene cone and bell, some paint and pretty stickers, your little artists can create a colourful, imaginative autumn mushroom. Adding stick-on eyes, a smile drawn with a marker and shiny stickers will give it a delightful face.

How to make this craft step-by-step:
Materials
To make an autumn mushroom you will need:
- a polystyrene cone (11 cm)
- a polystyrene bell (8.5 cm)
- acrylic paint (flesh tone, brown)
- a paintbrush
- a wooden disc
- small pine cones
- eye stickers
- leaf stickers
- round shiny stickers
- a tube of strong white glue
- a black marker
- wooden sticks
Step 1
Paint the cone with flesh-tone paint and the bell with brown paint.
Tip: Stick the polystyrene shapes onto wooden sticks to paint them without getting your fingers dirty and to let them dry more easily.
Step 2
Decorate the bell with round shiny stickers.
Step 3
Place the bell on the cone to form the mushroom and its cap.
Then decorate the base of the cone with eye stickers, two small round shiny stickers and a small line drawn with the marker to create a friendly smile.
Step 4
Glue the mushroom onto a wooden disc using strong white glue.
Complete the decoration by gluing a few small pine cones next to the mushroom.
Step 5
For a pretty autumn finish, stick small leaf stickers onto the wooden disc.
