How to make this craft step-by-step:
Material
To make this candle holder you need:
- a wooden egg cup
- an LED candle
- a wooden log slice (8 to 11 cm diameter)
- white paint and a brush
- white Silk Clay modelling paste
- eye stickers
- a brown pipe cleaner
- acrylic markers
- scissors
Step 1
Paint the wooden egg cup with white acrylic paint. This will be the base for the LED candle.
Step 2
Once dry, decorate the egg cup with eye stickers and acrylic markers to create the snowman’s head.
Step 3
Take about 20 g of white Silk Clay and roll it into a 12 cm long sausage shape.
Note: A 40 g pot of Silk Clay makes enough for two candle holders.
Step 4
Place the egg cup in the centre of the wooden log slice. Wrap the modelling clay sausage around the base of the egg cup.
Step 5
Pull and smooth the modelling clay with your finger to create a melted snow effect.
As it dries, the clay sticks naturally to the wooden log slice without glue.
Step 6
Make two arms from the brown pipe cleaner and insert them into the modelling clay.
Step 7
Cut three small pieces of pipe cleaner and press them into the modelling clay to form buttons on the snowman’s melted belly.
Step 8
Place an LED candle in the egg cup to finish your creation.
